Facade cladding to multi-storey car park

Based in Loßburg in south-west Germany, ARBURG GmbH + Co KG ranks amongst the world’s leading manufacturers of top-end injection moulding machines for plastics processing. The brief called for the installation of ground floor cladding to the company’s multi-storey car park. Apart from providing efficient through ventilation, this was to serve as a wind screen to prevent dirt and leaves from being blown into the car park.

Solution

The client opted for a textile facade cladding solution with black-coloured, wind protection mesh. The small mesh size (> 1 mm) ensures an adequate air change rate while keeping out leaves. The material’s flexibility allowed the cladding to be precisely fitted to the building’s rounded form.

The facade cladding offers ideal wind protection, coupled with efficient through-ventilation and ample daylight. Thanks to its small mesh size, the PVC-coated PES mesh fabric also acts as a barrier to leaves. No supporting construction is required and installation is fast and straightforward, even over large areas. Moreover, the high flexibility of the material makes it readily adaptable to any building shape. Overall, this system offers an ideal, cost-effective solution.
